The aim of Libri Books is to be the imprint of choice for authors and readers addressing issues in professional/organisational development and management. Specific categories include: ‘The Business of Higher Education’, ‘Health Policy and Medical Training’ and ‘Management Policy and Strategy’. Libri Books are written primarily for members of ‘communities of practice’ which include professionals, consultants and trainers, as well as researchers and academics.
This anthology comprises chapters authored by an international panel of 25 expert practitioners in case based teaching and learning. Their experiences and insights span from traditional to innovative types of case based learning, some enabled by information and communication technologies and some focusing on face-to-face interactions. Accordingly the anthology looks beyond the much-admired Harvard approach to offer a predominantly European perspective in the area of case based teaching.
Case Based Teaching and Learning for the 21st Century captures 275 pages of expert knowledge together with a collected bibliography which provides a very comprehensive review of the subject area. It also contains as an appendix the User Maual for the freely available Casemaker platform for supporting and enhancing case based teaching and learning.
The Casemaker anthology is supported by the EU and co-funded by the Casemaker project partners. It is a deliverable of the Casemaker project, along with the Casemaker software platform which is freely accessible at www.casemaker.dk and ready for all to use.
