The Human Face of Pandemics (Hardback)

The Human Face of Pandemics reveals the emotional, psychosocial, and behavioural realities that shape how societies experience and respond to global health crises and pandemics. Drawing on phenomenology, ontology, epistemology, and axiology, the authors uncover how fear, meaning, identity, and value systems influence public and individual health and preventive behaviours during pandemic outbreaks and in their aftermath. Through insights from HIV/AIDS and Covid‑19, this book exposes the psychological ruptures, ethical tensions, and missed opportunities that define pandemic life. Blending research, clinical experience, and psychosocial analysis, it offers a compelling framework for understanding resilience, vulnerability, and the human choices that determine the success or failure of pandemic prevention.
